I was broke back in ’94
I had empty pockets and rage
Rock and roll was the perfect log
that saved my ass from the wreck

Working my evenings after school
trying to make a few bucks I could spend
Buying cool albums in Plasticland
until I had no money left.

Where is now the new generation?
I don’t think they like music the way we do

Streaming and iPods have flooded all
Kids don’t buy records anymore
Digital boys rather watch something on you tube

We didn’t know what an MP3 was
but we knew some albums by heart

We recorded radio songs in crappy TDK tapes.
There was live music in TV shows
now we have hotties that can lip-sync

Where is now the new generation
It’s a shame they can’t visit Plasticland
